About The Owner And Founder

Kathy Schiano is a freelance cellist living in Simsbury, Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Kansas, and her Master of Music degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook where she studied under Bernard Greenhouse. She also received an M.B.A. with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Hartford.

She is a substitute with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. She is a cello instructor at Trinity College and Miss Porter's School, and has taught privately for over 25 years. She has over 30 years experience as a freelance musician and has played in backup orchestras for stars such as: Bob Hope, Liberace, Bill Cosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Englebert Humperdinck, and Andrea Bocelli. She has played with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and is currently Principal Cellist with the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. She also plays with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.

She is a classically trained cellist with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music, and an MBA in accounting. Her musical and analytical skills make her the perfect choice for the sophisticated, yet budget conscious bride.

She can provide you with tips on how to make your wedding go more smoothly. Kathy is able to work with the caterers and banquet managers so that the musicians are in the best location to be seen and heard during your ceremony or cocktail hour -- both indoors and out.

The members of Millennium Music love to play weddings and make it a point to help you create the mood and set the tone for your ceremony weeks before your wedding so that you can enjoy your day and not worry about the details -- we make your dreams a reality with just the right music.

We provide quality that you can depend on. Our musicians play together regularly and often - we are a small, select group. We really do care about providing you with exactly the kind of music you want for your wedding. If you tell us what to play, we will -- and if your request is out of the ordinary, we'll find the music. And, our fees go directly to the musicians and not to some company. We are not DJ's, we are not wedding coordinators: we are dedicated musicians.
